General Hospital Spoilers: Joshua Benard Admits Father Maurice Is Helping Him

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the young actor admitted that his father is very proud of the fact that he’s been doing so well on the hit ABC soap. He told the publication, “He always helps me. Sometimes I don’t even ask him and sometimes, for the harder things, I do. I had one scene where I was saying a bunch of medical terms and it was a super-long monologue and he told me, ‘That’s hard. I don’t even think I could do that!’ He told me I told a good job on that one.” 

Joshua also said that he doesn’t pay any attention to what the haters have to say about him. But at the same time, he does appreciate the feedback that he’s been getting from General Hospital fans even though not every one has been super supportive and positive about it. He said, “My dad and I always love reading the comments and stuff and I would say that 95 percent of people really like my character and what’s going on, and it’s cool to see that people like it. I saw someone post something like, ‘This kid only got the job because of his dad, I hate nepotism.’ And I reposted it! I was just laughing. I think that kind of stuff is funny.”

General Hospital Spoilers: What’s Next For Adam?

Now, whether or not Joshua’s character Adam will become a permanent fixture in Port Charles remains to be seen. Watch this space as we have a feeling that we will be seeing much more of the young star in the coming weeks and months ahead.
