Say it isn’t so! While it’s only been a hot minute since it was announced that actor Steve Burton would be returning to General Hospital to reprise his role as Jason Morgan, it looks like his return is going to be a temporary one and not a permanent one. At least, that’s what the actor is hinting. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
In a new interview with ABC’s Chicago affiliate, Steve suggested that he’s only got a short time left in front of the canvas. He said, “I feel like I have another, I don’t know — it’s a feeling right now and I don’t like to go on feelings all the time — another two or three years of acting.”
That’s certainly not something that fans want to hear as they would love to see him on the show for as long as possible. While a lot can happen in the next two years, having Jason disappear or ‘die’ again would certainly be devastating for the General Hospital fans who love him so much.
That said, Steve has admitted that he loves being back on the set of the hit ABC soap. That’s because it certainly feels like him for him. While he did spend the last year on Days of Our Lives, General Hospital is the one soap that has made him the big star that he is today. He said, “I said in my video when I left, ‘If the [COVID vaccine] mandates are dropped, I’d love to return to General Hospital… and finish my career there. So, I’m excited. I mean, it’s been a big part of my life. It’s enabled me to do so many things in my life and opened so many other doors for myself and my family. It’s been incredible.”
