The Young and the Restless spoilers say that fans can’t help but notice that Victor has been treating his wife Nikki a little bit differently lately. A lot of viewers can’t help but wonder if this is because of her ongoing problem with alcoholism or if there might be something else going on. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
A lot of Y&R fans couldn’t help but notice that during the most recent episode of the soap, Victor Newman kept on calling his wife Nikki “my baby” which is something very out of character for him. In fact, Victor almost never calls NIkki his baby. Instead, he will call her his darling, but not her baby.
Of course, many Y&R fans can’t help but read into this. Either Victor is reverting back to how he first fell in love and cared for Nikki during the very beginning of their relationship or this might be a slip up on the writing team’s part. Either way, fans sure have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have even commented with, “I thought it was cute once or twice but he does seem to use it all the time now – several times in a scene. I don’t think I’ve ever actually heard him call her Nikki while speaking directly to her before. That might be a nice change,” along with, “It’s gotten extremely annoying.. he used to call her my darling and now it kind of gives me the creeps… my baby, my baby over and over again.”
Another fan wrote, “It creeps me right out. It just sounds like he’s going soft in the head. It would bother me less if he had been doing it for the last 40 years….. but it’s sudden and excessive.”
