Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease double date surprises when Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) team up with an unexpected couple.

They’ll find themselves teamed up with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) at the Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in Salem. They may seem like an odd bunch to hang out, but Rafe was married to Johnny’s mother, Sami Brady (Allison Sweeney) at one time so there’s a bond there.

It likely won’t be planned as a double date, the two couples will simply meet up and land at a table together. They’ll discuss some important topics, such as rights, race, dating and more and tackle some tough issues and share new scenes.

DOOL Spoilers: Chanel Dupree May Be Preoccupied, Worried About Her Mom

Chanel is likely to be preoccupied with worries about her mom-Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) will be waiting for her biopsy results the same day. Paulina will likely push her daughter to spend time out at the important celebration instead of morbidly moping over what might be wrong with her.

Abe Carver (James Reynolds) of course will be by Paulina’s side as she waits for the dreaded talk with the doctor over the test results. As far as the double date, they’ll all have a good time together and it may turn into an experience they’ll wind up repeating.

But the most important thing to come out of this double date will be their conversation with each other, confronting difficult societal issues head-on.

Even though there have been tremendous strides made over the last fifty to sixty years, problems do still exist. Talking with those who may be different from oneself and learning how others live and think is the only road to understanding.

Having open minds and open hearts is a big step forward; even Rafe, Jada, Johnny and Chanel can always learn something new. That’s especially important in the business Rafe and Jada are in.

DOOL Spoilers: But Can Chanel Dupree Focus On The Task At Hand And Meaningful Conversation?

One question though is if Chanel can truly focus on the task at hand and meaningful conversation if she’s preoccupied with worry about Paulina.

Johnny should be doing his best to help her not to worry, and Jada and Rafe will likely back him up. Jada and Rafe know what a rough year Paulina and Abe had last year, what with Abe being kidnapped, losing his memory, and being presumed dead.

They don’t need any more bad things to happen to them and they’ll be sure to be encouraging. All in all, Rafe and Jada and Johnny and Chanel’s double date should be interesting.
