She finds out on New Year’s Eve that her mother Bobbie had died in her sleep after she had gotten a phone call from the American Embassy in Amsterdam. According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Carly finds out that her mother Bobbie has died, and of course, she’s devastated. Actress Laura Wright, who plays Carly on the hit ABC soap, says that her character doesn’t know how to handle this sudden death. She also doesn’t know how to deal with what life has just handed her. 

Laura puts it this way, “Losing your mother is not something she ever wrapped her head around or thought could ever happen. I think just stops her in her tracks. It really pulls out the rug from underneath her and it’s beyond devastating. She’s asking herself, ‘Why didn’t I tell her this, and why did I ever do anything awful to her?’ And then she’s got to tell her kids…. It’s a lot.”

General Hospital spoilers say that’s when Carly decides to seek refuge at Kelly’s, where she has a heart to heart with Elizabeth and Sonny. Laura says, “Carly and Elizabeth have a really true, honest moment, because they’re coming together because of something so real.” Their chat about Bobbie gives Carly a new perspective on her mother. “Carly hearing about her mom through Elizabeth and about how much her mom changed Elizabeth’s life is such a gift for Carly.”
