General Hospital Spoilers: Which Port Charles Resident Has Endured the Most Trauma?

General Hospital spoilers say Port Charles seems to be the perfect metropolis with a small-town vibe to raise a family in. It’s the ideal place to fall in love, get married once, twice, or six times, and raise a family.

But it’s also been where some of the most beloved people residing there have endured some rather horrific traumas. Sifting through sixty years of drama is no small feat, and there are plenty of Port Chuck citizens worthy of being on the list of the most traumatized, but there are a few who spring to mind right away when fans start debating who’s had it the worst.

Of course, it’s just a television show, but in real life, we’re not sure any of these people’s lives would have turned out as well as they have after all they’ve lived through.

General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Has Seen It All

Carly has seen more than her fair share of heartbreak — and much of it at the hands of the same people over and over again. Her childhood was brutal. Being adopted, she knew from an early age that her birth mother didn’t keep her — and she perceived that as being unwanted.

Reconnecting with Bobbie Spencer (Jaclyn Zeman) later in life wasn’t enough; Carly sought out her birth mom to wreak havoc on her life — and she succeeded by seducing her husband. Carly has been shot while giving birth, held hostage, nearly brainwashed, endured the loss of her husband — both in death and to other women — and lost Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who some say was her real true love.

Let’s not forget that she lost her child, too. Still, she has managed to persevere and make a success story out of her life. But she’s not without her battle scars.

GH Spoilers Suggest the Corinthos Kids Had a Harsh Upbringing

Carly has also had to reconcile the choices she’s made in men and the effects those choices have had on her children. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is her firstborn, and he lost his biological father — AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) — at the hands of his “dad,” Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Michael has watched Sonny run the mob business all of his life, and it’s everything he doesn’t want to be. At the same time, he’s becoming more like him every day. Trauma has a way of making that happen. Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) has been a bit more fortunate, but being the victim of revenge porn a couple of years ago wasn’t easy, and now having a boyfriend in the mob is no cakewalk either.

She is the epitome of the saying, “like mother, like daughter.” Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) is dead. Need we say more? Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) has fallen into a cult, dabbled in substance abuse, and lost her way more times than we can count. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was shot by his own father!

Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola) has already been targeted by Sonny’s enemies, and we expect no less for Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) down the road. As far as kids in Port Charles go, the Corinthos clan may be blessed, but they’re also quite burdened.

General Hospital Spoilers — Laura Takes the Cake

The most adult of everyone in Port Charles may very well be Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis), and her maturity has certainly been exemplified by her ability to move through the curve balls life has thrown her.

Always making lemonade out of life’s lemons, Laura has risen to the top of the food chain and shows no signs of slowing down. She’s raised three children she’s proud of, and while they’ve all lost their way at times, she’s remained in their corners. If we’re being fair, she had a hand in raising her grandson, too.

She has been tortured by the Cassadine family, held captive, raped, quite literally lost her mind, nearly died on multiple occasions, and is probably living in a constant state of fight or flight.

You wouldn’t know it though. Of all of the citizens of Port Charles, she has earned her stripes and wears her battle wounds well. Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
