General Hospital alum Steve Burton can finally call himself a free and single man. The actor, who was best known for his role as Jason Morgan on the hit ABC soap, has finally finalized his divorce from his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin. Not only that, but it has also been revealed that Sheree is expecting her fifth child with her new partner. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
According to Page Six, Steve Burton is single and perhaps even willing to mingle. Court documents show that the ex-couple finalized their divorce in early December and that Sheree had also requested the court to terminate spousal support for both parties. They also share joint custody of their two children, Brooklyn and Jack. They have an older daughter, 20-year-old Makena.
As many fans perhaps can recall, Steve was forced to announce their separation back in May of 2022. At the time, Sheree had posted a photo of herself with her pregnant belly. However, Steve was quick to clarify that the child was not his. The actor wrote on Instagram, “I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids.”
He ended up filing for divorce two months later. Steve has not made any comments about the divorce since then.
Of course, many General Hospital fans have taken to social media to weigh in on the matter with, “I’m glad he’s free and he puts his kids’ well being first. He needs to maintain a cordial relationship with their mother. He won’t have to support her anymore,” along with, “Good for him! Hope they move on separately and happily as co-parents and he finds all kinds of love in his life.”
