The Young and The Restless spoilers and rumors tease the DNA may match at least partly for Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) because Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) grabbed the wrong hairbrush.

Someone brushed Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) hair when she was captive, and even if he got the right brush, some of Nikki’s hair might be in it!

Surely Cole knew to wear gloves when he went back to the lake house to get items with Claire’s DNA, and he was careful to go only in her room.

But if the brush was the same one used on Nikki, it would bring up a match to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). However, he did get a toothbrush too so that DNA should be intact if not too old, albeit most people rinse their toothbrush after using it.

There is a good chance that the DNA on the hairbrush could be mixed and not enough on the toothbrush to use, however they do get enough in spite of it. As far as any of Cole’s DNA, there could be some around the house but not in Claire’s room from his captivity.

A grandmother’s DNA won’t be as strong a match as a mother’s but if the DNA from the hairbrush and toothbrush matches Victoria’s, but not Cole’s, then there’s a problem.

That means that the match came from Nikki’s hair in the hairbrush, and that would mean the match is inconclusive; Claire would need to supply new DNA and redo the test.

Cole and Victoria tell Claire that he got items with her DNA from the lake house to be tested and she asks them to tell her who he is. Claire would be more than happy to supply new DNA for a retest and so would Cole and Victoria, they have to find out if she’s baby Eve.

Cole, Victoria, and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) are all committed to helping Claire whether the DNA matches or not-this is a troubled girl kidnapped as a baby.

Then she was raised and groomed by a psycho bent on revenge, and if she’s not Cole and Victoria’s, she’s someone’s! If she’s not baby Eve Nicole Howard all grown up then she’s someone else’s and a new investigation will start.

Claire will receive all the help that she obviously needs with Cole and Victoria backing it financially. If a search needs to be done to find who she really is and whose baby was kidnapped, Michael, Cole and Victoria will be on it.
