General Hospital news says that a lot of fans have made it pretty clear that they simply do not understand why Joshua Benard is getting so much airtime on the show when he really doesn’t have a significant storyline as his character, Adam. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
While there’s a lot of mystery surrounding Adam, who his family is, and what he’s doing in Port Charles, General Hospital doesn’t seem to be very impressed. In fact, the majority of viewers think the only reason why Joshua Benard is even on the show is because he happens to be the son of Maurice Benard (Sonny Cortinhos).
Needless to say, many General Hospital fans sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have even commented with, “This storyline and character is a complete waste of airtime/screentime. Nepotism Hospital,” along with, “Maybe because the success rate is very very low unless you have connections. This storyline is terrible.”
Another General Hospital critic wrote, “Cancel Adam. Ugh, maybe because he can only play a few chords and sings off key? The way the writers have characters fawning over mediocre singers is truly bizarre.”
So far the producers of the show have not made any comments about the criticism, but many fans have certainly made their point across that they don’t think Adam should be getting all the screen time that he has. Clearly, a lot of people are also bothered that Joshua is only on the show because of the connection that he has with his father, Maurice Benard. Maurice also hasn’t made any comments about the matter, either.

I think that people can be ridiculously mean and petty!! How many are simply envious that it’s not their child! This could evolve into a very interesting plot line about the many pressures some children are undergoing these days. In case the meanies haven’t heard, the suicide rate among young teenagers has skyrocketed. Joshua is a handsome and talented young actor just beginning this career! They should chill out and give him a break!
I think the character if Adam is great. I love seeing his part.
Maybe they gave him so much air time and the drama because that problem is a lot of new students coming to school worrying about failure. If he doesn’t have the natural talent, the writers shouldn’t have included it. He has a connection to Joss and her group. He has a history that might connect but hasn’t come out yet.
