Sharing a photo of the two of them sitting together on a couch with Joshua strumming his guitar, Maurice wrote in the caption, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSHUA You know you’re a lucky father when you have a son who is talented, smart, doesn’t drink, do drugs, social media, just wants to improve his life and who he is!!!

His work ethic is second to none which makes me really happy,” while also adding, “Have a great birthday Joshua never forget your dad loves you.”

Of course, many of Maurice’s Instagram followers also shared comments such as, “Happy Birthday, Joshua. I didn’t realize he was your son. He gets his acting talents from his father,” along with, “Maurice you are such a proud father. Congrats on raising a fine young man. And happy birthday to him as well! Hope he has a great year ahead of him.”

Joshua was once a guest on his father’s YouTube mental health series, State of MInd. The young actor admitted that he likes to channel his anxiety through his art and his music.

He said, “One of the songs that I wrote called Home, coming out soon, was what I wrote when you were going through that period. A lot of songs that I have that I think are great come from that. When I finish a song, write the last thing, that’s the greatest feeling in the world.”

Joshua also admitted that he’s found a lot of peace in his life thanks to his music. It actually also helped him get through some of his father’s bipolar episodes in the past.

He said, “A lot of that type of stuff, even though it wasn’t that traumatic for me, like it was for you, during that period with me, now that I write music.”
