John took to his Twitter account on Monday to write, “Good morning, thank you for all the very kind Birthday wishes! Recovery process is going along nicely. One day at a time! Appreciate each and every one of you.”

Of course, it didn’t take long at all for many of his fans and followers to comment on his post. Some of them even wrote, “Oh, that is wonderful news!

I have been wondering and praying daily for a smooth recovery. Continued prayers going out. Happy belated birthday to you!” along with, “Just recovered from Stage 3 colon cancer and 6 months of chemo. My 3rd cancer. You’ve got this. Just get that rest and hydrate!”

Another fan wrote, “This post made my day! Thank you SO much for updating us! I am eagerly looking forward to seeing Mac again and I will continue to pray for your recovery!”

And there was this comment as well: “So good to hear this good news! I hope your recovery is quick and you can enjoy the holidays! Still waiting for the daddy reveal…can’t wait to see your face when that happens!”

In September, the actor announced that he would be leaving General Hospital over a frightening health condition. He’s now recovering from his life-saving transplant. John was lucky to find a donor on BeTheMatch.org but had to go through months of grueling tests.
