Days of Our Lives star Steve Burton says that he’s ready for more and by that, we mean he’s ready for more action! The actor has been nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards for his role as Harris Michaels. Keep reading below for everything you need to know!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the actor said he was just as surprised as everyone else that this is his tenth nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award.
He’s won awards in the past for his roles as Jason Burton on General Hospital and as Dylan on The Young and the Restless.
When asked if he feels any pressure to win as Harris Michaels on his current soap, Days of Our Lives, Steve said, “Nah, I don’t feel any pressure. I mean, look, to win an Emmy from three different shows would be incredible, but I’m not even really thinking about it. I’m just planning to go and have a lot of fun. I’m sure it’ll be awesome!”
Steve also said that being a guest star, he had several different shows to choose from when it came to submitting his reel. He put it this way, “They just sent me a reel of what they thought was the best and quite frankly, by the time I got back to them, it was already too late to make any changes and we just submitted that [laughs]!
Usually, I let the producers do that for me anyway. At GH, Michelle Henry, one of our producers, and Nneka [Garland, late producer] always did that for me. It’s hard to watch yourself!”
