The Bold and the Beautiful star John McCook admits that he’s tired of coughing so much in front of the cameras (he can say that again). As many B&B fans know, his character, Eric Forrester, is terminally ill, or at least that’s what it sounds like. But according to the actor, he’d like to see Eric back in his regular shape again. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, John admitted that the producers of the show went an extra mile to make sure that the actor’s own health wouldn’t be compromised while filming his scenes as a frail and fragile Eric Forrester. The actor said, “We had a stunt guy there, and they have me wear knee pads if I’m going to, you know, make a drink [laughs]! They protect me like crazy, even if it’s just a simple collapse on the floor. And we had a stunt guy there in case they wanted to do something a little more violent than it said on the page. You never quite now how we’re actually going to shoot it [when you read a script].”

John McCook also added that while all the coughing that he’s been doing in front of the cameras don’t hurt him, he’s just tired of it (it’s safe to say that viewers feel the same way). Explaining that it doesn’t actually ‘hurt’ to fake cough, he said, “The kind of coughing you do [on camera] is not the kind that hurts. Otherwise I’d say, ‘My God, won’t be doing that again!’“
