General Hospital spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but wonder what might be the real reason why Roger Howarth had lost his job at the hit ABC soap. Apparently, Soap Twitter has done a little digging. Here’s what you need to know.

There’s speculation that Rogert might have been released from his contract on the show to make room for much younger actors on the soap. Some have even pointed out that Roger, who was best known for his character Austin this past year, didn’t have much of a say when it came to his storyline, yet a child actor like Jophielle Love got to debut her new song on the show. This has prompted a lot of fans to ask: what gives?

Needless to say, many General Hospital fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some even commented with, “Also while we are ALL Upset to lose Roger (Even if I found Austin a weak character) I hardly think this young excited child actress is to blame. Just sayin,” along with, “No. Roger is out of a job because Austin was a weak character who paled in comparison to Franco and was written into a corner by writers who realized that they had failed to fully integrate him into the canvas. He was a Q forgodsake and hadn’t had scenes with them in over a year.”

General Hospital: Will Roger Howarth Go To ‘Days of Our Lives’?

Another General Hospital critic wrote, “Awful. It would be nice if #GH remembered it’s a soap opera…. But at least those scenes were easy to fast forward. I did not need to hear a kid screeching a song and politely listen to it, that’s reserved for family members after dinner only.”

And then there was this comment as well, “What a mistake letting him go. I hope he goes to Days. He will be an asset to any show. I like Lois, always did, but she needs to stop flashing those nails, we see them. Waiting for a reason they got rid of Roger and bought her back.”

So far the producers of the show have not made any comments about the matter. Watch this space.
