The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Nikki Newman is headed towards a downward spiral and it seems like no one is capable of giving her the help that she needs. In fact, many Y&R fans noticed a huge mistake in her alcoholism storyline. Here’s what you need to know.
While it’s no secret that Nikki Newman is someone who has battled alcoholism in the past, you’d think that her family members – including her husband Victor Newman and their two children Victoria and Nick – would make sure that the Newman ranch would not have an ounce of alcohol anywhere on their property. Yet, it’s been very easy for Nikki to access it in her very own home. This has prompted a lot of viewers to wonder: where is her intervention? And why aren’t the Newmans doing more to prevent this? It seems like the writers might have made a huge mistake with this storyline.
It goes without saying that many The Young and the Restless fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some even commented with, “Nikki should change her cell phone number and Victor should toss out all the booze in the house. Of course I know if an alcoholic wants a drink they’ll just go out and buy it and start hiding it around the house,” along with, “Victor knows she’s drinking and one of them should be there along with Nick/Victoria to make sure she doesn’t, and for their own safety bc of Jordan.”
Another Y&R critic wrote, “This is the dumbest!!! Why leave all that liquor in the house and why not get a new phone or route all calls to an answering service. Our intelligence is being insulted! Do better writers.”

I don't think it's right the way the writers presented someone who IA alcoholic to be sneaking around...not right.and the family should keep an eye on Nikki...or leave her by herself to drink more
