Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, actor Greg Vaughan, who plays Eric on the hit Peacock soap, admits that with Nicole’s baby being taken away and given to Eric and Sloan, he just wants all of it to end already! The handsome actor admits that he definitely feels like he’s been down this road before. He said, “I did a baby switch back with Brady and Kristen, when Sarah and Eric were together. I didn’t know what new direction they were going or how it was going to play out. I was like, ‘Hey. We’re just going to tell a great story.’”
Now, as far as how he feels about Eric adopting a child with Sloan, Greg admits that his character really does want a picture perfect family, if that’s even possible. But at the same time, as bad as he knows things are about to get, Eric does have a beautiful thing going with Sloan right now.
The actor said, “Eric is so invested in this relationship. He was a broken soul trying to move forward, and she completely opened his eyes and got him to see things a bit differently. As far apart as they were in life, they were deeply connected, emotionally and physically. The two of them deciding to adopt a child has been a journey.”
Now, as far as whether Greg thinks that Eric was ever going to be a dad, he said, “Of course. But Eric is a man of God, a man of faith. And he was like, OK. I’ve come to terms with it long ago. He does have a father-daughter relationship with Holly. She’s not his biological child, but there’s a love and respect that he cultivated with her, and they’ve maintained that relationship.”
It goes without saying that Days of Our Lives fans will have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.
