He tries to console Steffy Forrester-Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) over the impending death of her grandfather-might he find something overlooked?

The diagnosis was supposed to remain secret but Steffy did tell her husband-the fact he’s a doctor is a bonus in this case; Eric doesn’t know Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) knows.

There are quite a few family members who know now, but that’s because RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) couldn’t keep such a heavy burden to himself.

He’s the one who spilled the devastating diagnosis tea to Ridge and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), his parents, and Ridge told Steffy and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).

Brooke told Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) already knew.

But only Steffy’s husband Finn has a way to look at the case and see if Eric’s doctor, Colin Colby (Justiin Davis) may have missed an important detail.

Steffy breaks down in tears and opens up to Finn over the idea of losing her grandfather so soon, having only a few months or maybe even weeks to live.

It’s not that Dr. Colby isn’t a competent doctor, and he did rely on other’s expert opinions when he arrived at his diagnosis.

But in something this important, another set of eyes can never hurt-especially when Finn sees details others don’t-as in when he realized Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) bear mauling didn’t add up.

Finn knows that it may still be a grave diagnosis and outcome for Eric, but he still wants to review his case; perhaps what Eric has is something rare.

Rare diseases are frequently misdiagnosed, but if nothing else, Finn might find there’s an alternative treatment they could try on Eric, or a clinical trial.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Bridget Forrester Is Brought In The Loop

By December 20, Eric’s daughter with Brooke, Dr. Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) will be brought in the loop, and she and Finn will consult with a Dr. Martin (Cirie Fields).

Whether Eric knows that Bridget is told is another story-he’s having a big family reunion party December 1 that will also serve as his goodbye-but the rest of them don’t know.

Finn may have to consult with Dr. Colby first to get access to the file, and for Bridget to look in it but it’s definite they both talk to Dr. Martin.

Perhaps with Dr. Martin and Bridget and Finn all working the case, possibly with Dr. Colby as well, they’ll find a last minute save for Eric. It’s certainly worth a shot, because otherwise, there’s no hope for Eric.
