When Nikki Newman hired Claire Grace, she had no idea that she would turn out to be the bad, bad girl that she is. But according to the character’s portrayer, Hayley Erin, The Young and the Restless fans can see right through her. And they certainly aren’t wrong, either. 

Hayley told Soap Opera Digest in a new interview that she’s having an absolutely great time playing such a naughty character like Grace.

She told the publication, “ think there’s a really fine line that I get to dance on, which is, how much of it is truly crazy and how much of it is her enjoying playing with Nikki? I saw a clip from one of the shows this week and I was so pleased with it.

As an actor, you always have motivation. No actor playing a character is feeling, ‘Oh, this character is evil’ or ‘This character is crazy.’ You have to find the humanity in it. Claire has got layers like an onion, and there’s a lot of fun stuff coming up where many, many layers will be peeled away.”

Now, as far as what’s next for Claire, there’s a very good chance that she might soon learn her fate. Seeing how Hayley Erin lives full-time in Ireland, there’s a strong possibility that she’s only in Los Angeles to film for The Young and the Restless for a short period of time.
