General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, October 20 tease disheartening returns, disappointing reunions and devastating theories.
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) faces a disheartening return to Pentonville, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) may be in for a disappointing reunion, and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) shares a devastating truth.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will be disheartened upon hearing Drew’s been returned to Pentonville. Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Hearst) looks on as a guard has entered Drew’s hospital room informing him of the fact he’s there to take him.
Alexis and Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) had tried to use the power of the press to sway Judge Albert Kim (Kurt Yue) in an interview that became an interrogation.
It was Alexis and Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) plan to get the judge to either vacate Drew’s sentence or possibly put pressure on the judge’s superiors. The hope was to re-hear the case under a different judge before Drew being returned to the prison!
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is frustrated as he talks to Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) who tells him he does the right thing with the wrong outcome.
Dante did do the right thing, saving two lives in the process as he shot Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) in the back. At the point he arrived at the edge of the cliff, Ava Jerome (Maura West) was struggling, handcuffed and screaming, and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) on the ground with Mason.
Mason stood to his feet hearing Dante tell him to freeze and Dex got loose from him but Mason now had his gun on Dante. He tried to push Dex off again and Dante shot him; now Dante’s on administrative leave.
Meanwhile, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is unexpectedly confronted over her parenting skills at GH, with Ace Prince-Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay) in her arms.
Her uncle, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) is by her side as she tells the unwelcome interloper that she’s perfectly capable of caring for her own son. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) had just got done telling Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) that he wasn’t abandoning his baby brother, and it was a bit argumentative.
Trina had warned that someday Ace and Esme would be on their own and there would be nothing he could do about it. Perhaps he has done something about it and made some calls?
Elsewhere, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) will have a heart-to-heart talk, about the state of their potential romantic relationship.
But Robert may have a disappointing reunion as he laughs and acts not serious at all about asking if they could pick up where they left off. Robert seems to like to flirt and promise more to Diane, but every time she’s thought he was really interested he’d have some problem of an ex-wife to solve.
Diane is not sharing him with his ex-wives, she was even offended when he made a digital photo frame of old photos and gave it to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes)! That was when her house was burned down and she lost everything.
Elsewhere, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) tries to get through to Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) after Valentin’s cry for help. Laura realized that Charlotte had been under Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) control too much in the past and quite probably used it to influence her and control her.
Laura asks Charlotte probing questions, such as if she is worried about her father-Victor had sent a letter warning Charlotte about Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
It’s not known if that letter that he sent with the tarot cards was thrown away or if she still has it. But Laura and Valentin agreed that Victor could be using Charlotte to get revenge on Anna-possibly even through post-hypnotic suggestions.
Elsewhere, Valentin is talking to Anna, and relaying some devastating truths, as Anna asks why he thinks the arson and the destroying of the hotel suite is revenge.
Valentin will have to come totally clean about Charlotte, and likely self-berates over his not being able to see it. If anyone, Anna would see the connection between tarot cards and post-hypnotic suggestions and that Charlotte probably lied about the tarot cards’ source.
It will be difficult, but Valentin must explain the truth-even if it is more of a theory-that Victor is using Charlotte to get revenge on Anna.
Spencer acts confused and maybe a bit defensive, as he asks what the hell was that about? He may be in the hospital and have witnessed Esme and Kevin’s unpleasant conversation about Esme not being able to take care of Ace. If he is the one behind it, he is manifesting his genetic Cassadine duplicity.
He may have realized also with his father alive, he needs to step up his efforts to get sole custody of Ace. But for now, he doesn’t know what this was about.
