It’s been a long time coming, but Sharon Case is finally clearing up a few things about her relationship with Mark Grossman. As many The Young and the Restless fans are well aware of, the couple used to date before Mark moved on with his other Y&R co-star, Courtney Hope. Well, Sharon sure has a few things to say about it. Here’s what you need to know.
As many The Young and the Restless fans can recall, Sharon and Adam tried to keep their relationship under the radar while they were still filming the hit CBS soap together. At the same time, their two characters, Sharon Newman and Adam Newman, were romancing the pants off each other on the small screen. Interestingly enough, after Mark moved on from Sharon to Courtney, her character Sally Spectra also dated Adam on the small screen.
Well, while speaking to Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling on their podcast, Sharon Case told them that she and Mark did talk to the producers about their off-screen romance. Sharon admitted that she told them about her relationship with Mark because it makes things a bit easier to have their on-screen characters touch and hold each other since they were also a real-life couple. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic, of course, when everyone still had to keep their distance from their castmates while filming.
She said, “I mean, we’ve never talked about it so bluntly, but I guess the reason why we finally mentioned it to the studio is just so that we wouldn’t have the distance in case the show wanted to write us in scenes together.”
Mark Grossman, for his part, has never made any comments about his romance with Sharon Case. However, it’s been noted that once they stopped dating in real life and he began his relationship with Courtney Hope, fans did notice some distance between him and Sharon, both in front of the cameras and off. Clearly, that made things pretty uncomfortable for everyone.
