As long as he is in charge, it’s not going to happen on his watch. There’s a new report that suggests King Charles is forbidding Prince William to divorce Kate Middleton. Apparently, he doesn’t care how bad things are between them as he knows that a royal divorce would be devastating for the British monarchy right now. Here’s what you need to know.
For anyone who has been paying attention lately, they can see that things don’t look very good between the Prince and Princess of Wales. They have been spending more time apart than together these last several months. What’s more, it seems like Kate Middleton is doing everything she can to avoid her husband, too. She didn’t accompany him on his trip to New York City and she won’t be joining him on his trip to Singapore next month, either. Apparently, Kate wants to stay home so she can help support their son Prince George during his school exams. This has definitely raised some eyebrows as a lot of royal critics can’t help but wonder just how important would a 10-year-old’s school exams be.
That said, King Charles has put his foot down as he knows that a divorce would be devastating. He doesn’t need to deal with those kinds of negative headlines right now. That’s why as the King of England, he is putting his foot down. As miserable as Prince William and Kate Middleton may be behind closed doors, King Charles knows that they just have to deal with it. He doesn’t want history to repeat as he knows all too well what a royal divorce will mean for the monarchy. After all, his divorce from Princess Diana nearly toppled the royal family.
Of course, both the Prince and Princess of Wales don’t want to hear this. They both know that things will only get worse before they get better. That’s why they would rather just put their miserable marriage behind them. But it’s not going to happen anytime soon. William and Kate will have to wait until it’s their turn to become king and queen of England. Or, they are just going to have to hope that King Charles eventually changes his mind about everything.
