The Young and the Restless spoilers say that for the longest time a lot of fans couldn’t help but wonder why actress Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) would appear on the show for just a handful of episodes and then leave. Well, it seems like there’s a good reason behind it. This has also prompted a lot of fans to wonder if her character will be recast if she’s unable to keep up with the storylines. So, is Ashley Abbott returning to this fictional town of Genoa City any time soon? Well, it all depends on the timing. In her interview with Maurice Benard’s State of Mind, Eileen said that she only agreed to the heavier workload because of the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations. That’s how she also got her Ashley and Tucker storyline. But now that it’s all over, she’s back to just doing guest appearances.
It goes without saying that many The Young and the Restless fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have even commented with, “It’s a loss for the show when she’s not on; if they want to utilize the character, then maybe they should look at a recast. It might be time,” along with, “That really sucks. I love Ashley. I have loved her since she stole Victor’s sperm sample to conceive Abby.”
Another critic wrote, “I think it’s time to recast Ashley as well. I’ve been liking Ashley since she came back but I don’t like the s/l with Tucker. Its so cooky. Tucker just wanted her to love him but Ashley was so hell bent on getting rid of Diane she used Tucker. Their wedding wasn’t enjoyable. I don’t like Tucker either.”
So far Eileen herself has not made any comments about the matter. Now, whether or not Ashley Abbott will be recast with another actress remains to be seen.
