It looks like he really can’t do it all on his own. There’s a new report that suggests Prince William is feeling rather miserable after his failed trip to New York City. That’s because he failed to get the kind of attention that he was hoping for if his wife Kate Middleton would have attended with him. Not only that, but many royal fans and critics alike have also pointed out that the Prince of Wales just lacks the same glitz and glamour that his mother Princess Diana had back in the day or even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince William was in New York City for less than 72 hours and if it weren’t for the Page Six article that said he managed to jog around Central Park without being noticed, no one would have even known that he was there. That’s because the press gave him very little attention for his EarthShot prize and the fact that he spent some time at the UN. A lot of people have even pointed out that the trip would have looked differently for the Prince of Wales should his wife Kate Middleton had attended with him.
In contrast, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were at Kevin Costner’s fundraiser on Friday night and it’s already front headline news. That’s because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent the evening rubbing elbows with the likes of not only Costner but also Katy Perry and even their good friend, Oprah Winfrey.
Now, that’s not to say that Prince William doesn’t have celebrity fans on his end. Instead, it might just be because the Prince of Wales just isn’t as popular or as interesting as his brother, his wife, or even his sister-in-law. It’s no wonder he’s feeling so miserable about his NYC trip as he was virtually ignored by everyone, including the American press.
So far Kensington Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
