Trepidation exists because Tucker and Ashley were engaged in duplicity for months, intending to split Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) from the now Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters). They also wanted to build a new company, Simply Ashley, and use it as a vehicle to take control of Jabot.

Diane warned Jack not to let his guard down, believing that his truce with Ashley is real. But even if it is, Tucker could prove to be the far more dangerous threat because he is a new spouse scorned.

Saving someone’s life is no small thing. While Ashley initially sloughed off Diane dislodging a grape from her throat, she did later admit that it created some pause.

Ashley’s sister-in-law was seen as a source of outrage, with Jack leading that charge after she revealed herself as alive in Los Angeles, California. The use of Keemo Volien Abbott Nguyen’s (Philip Moon) memory and his daughter, Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) was detestable and manipulative.

But if Diane’s actions in Society, in helping save Ashley’s life, created a change in perspective, then the shared loathing of Walters’ character has ended, with Tucker no longer wielding that wedge issue.

Why would TPTB have Ashley and Tucker fight off-screen?

The viewers were shown every minute detail of this couple’s reconciliation storyline and their many conversations about Jack and Diane. Then, while on their honeymoon in Paris, France, nothing was shown. That felt strange.

It is understood that withholding that information from the audience furthers an inability to know the truth, which is a plot technique. But unless full details are provided shortly, that method of presentation can be questioned.

Devon Hamilton Winters (Bryton James) agreed to serve as his dad’s best man. That meant the world to Tucker and appeared to represent a watershed moment in their developing relationship.

Abby Newman Abbott (Melissa Ordway) sought out Tucker after learning that her mother did not return home with him. They had some tense conversations, with Tucker warning Abby that the Abbotts should stay away from him.

Tucker’s actions and words were relayed to Devon by Abby. That could undercut the open hand Devon was offering on Y&R.
