General Hospital fans woke up in shock on Sunday morning when they found out that actor Billy Miller had died at the age of 43. He was best known for his roles as Richie Novak on All My Children, Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless, and of course Drew Cain and Jason Morgan on General Hospital. He died only a few short days before his 44th birthday. But it’s his death that’s not the only shocking thing about all of this. Many of his fans seem to be angered over another reason, too. Here’s what you need to know.
The news of Billy Miller’s death was first reported by Michael Fairman TV. It came after a few people hinted at the actor’s death on social media. It was then picked up by several different soap opera blogs. But as of press time, none of Billy’s friends or family members have confirmed his death. However, TMZ reports that the actor did battle with manic depression. It was a Twitter user who first announced Billy’s death by writing, “Truly devastating news. Everyone hold your loved ones close. You never know what anyone is going through.”
When someone replied with, “I’m sorry for your loss,” the Twitter user responded with, “Thanks. Not really mine, but the soap community is about to be in shambles.”
The soap community definitely is in shambles as a lot of people just can’t get over the fact that Billy Miller is dead. Billy’s General Hospital co-star William deVry was one of the first people to comment on his passing with, “I’m very sorry to hear of the passing of #BillerMiller . RIP Billy. You had much to offer. Condolences to his family, friends and the fans who loved him.”
So far General Hospital has not made any comments about the matter. What’s more, actress Kelly Monaco, who Billy was previously linked to, has also not said anything on social media about his death. We will update you with all of the latest news as it comes in.
