The Young and the Restless alum Doug Davidson (ex-Paul Williams) wants his fan base to cool it. Apparently, there have been a lot of comments about David’s recent interview in which he suggested that one of the reasons why he left the show was because he felt disrespected. That, and he also felt as though he should have been compensated more for reprising his role as Detective Paul Williams. Here’s what you need to know.
Doug, who is always very transparent with his fans, took to his Twitter account to write, “Hi guys! I just wanted to thank you all for your sweet comments and support. But I would like to make a comment on some of the negative messages I got it’s amazing to me that this can’t be a positive place where we support one another.”
He then added, “As a community, why don’t we make a deal? It was some thing I learned as a child. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
It goes without saying that many of his fans have had a lot to say about the matter on Twitter. Some have commented with, “Very true Doug, no need to be negative when a person is opening up about their feelings about an issue or clarifying. I will always have your back, all the best Doug!” along with, “What happened to the ability to turn negative into positive? I’ve been making a more conscious effort to do just that. It’s such a feel good vibe the world needs more of.”
Another critic wrote, “It can be a positive place. Just don’t bother with the negative people. They either aren’t happy or just trying to start something. We miss you and letting you go was done wrong. If you feel your in a good place, that’s all that matters!!”
