The Bold and the Beautiful star Kimberlin Brown is best known for her role as the villainous Sheila Carter. She’s managed to flip life upside down in more ways than one in this fictional town of Los Angeles. But little do some fans know that Kimberlin tried to become a member of Congress back when she ran her own political campaign in 2017. In fact, the soap opera star even has a secret connection to Donald Trump that a lot of fans aren’t even aware of. Here’s what you need to know.
Little do some B&B fans know that Kimberlin Brown ran for office in her local hometown of Palm Springs, California. The daytime television actress ran for California’s 36th congressional district as a member of the Republican party. Some people were even shocked to find out that Kimberlin had a prime speaking slot at Donald Trump’s Republican convention back in 2016. She said during her speech, “I’m a member of California’s Businesswomen for Trump. We are comprised of farmers, doctors, small business owners, attorneys and women in just about every field, profession, race and ethnicity. We’re concerned about out of control, unreasonable government regulations that needlessly add costs to doing business and tie us all up in red tape. And don’t get me started about the bewildering tax code and high taxes to boot.”
The actress even received some backlash for her support for the then-presidential candidate. Kimberlin admitted that being a conservative in Hollywood is tough and that she has a lot of right-wing friends who stay quiet about their views just because they don’t want to lose their job.
Kimberlin said, “To be a conservative actress in California, it’s a tough place. When you have actors in Hollywood calling for a new blacklist…it’s something that I never in my lifetime thought I would see. [Conservative actors] are really afraid. I have several conservative friends that you would know who are afraid to come forward because they are the sole providers for their families.”
