The Young and the Restless spoilers say that even fans knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Victoria Newman gets demoted by her father, Victor Newman. His sudden shift in things and his management style also leaves her absolutely horrified. Here’s what you need to know.

According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, things get a little messy when Victor shows up at Newman Enterprises. After going back and forth about bringing Nick Newman back into the fold, Victoria mentions that Nate should be promoted to co-CEO. But Victor tells his daughter that he already had a better candidate in mind. At first, Victoria believes it’s Adam until her father tells her that he wants to come back to work.

Actress Amelia Heinle, who plays Victoria on the hit CBS soap, puts it this way, “Unlike her brothers, Victoria has remained loyal and dedicated to both Victor and the company, so she had no reason to believe that her position would be on the line. Victoria knows that she will lose all power and control the second that her father is back in charge.”

Of course, Victoria protests this decision. Amelia adds, “Victoria knows that Victor is sending a message to her family, and more importantly, the business world, that he has officially reclaimed his throne at Newman Enterprises. While she has no choice but to accept his decision, she certainly doesn’t agree with it and will quickly form an agenda to get her position back – at any cost, too.”

In other words, this fight isn’t over yet. Both Victoria and Victor were definitely cut from the same cloth, right? Now, whether or not Victoria will manage to sidestep her father remains to be seen but if there’s anything that we’ve learned about Victor Newman over the years, it’s that he’s in charge, even when he’s not. Victoria has a huge rude awakening coming.
