The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) knows that she has a lot to make up for.

Her path to redemption runs right through the hearts of her children.

Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) was as crushed as his sister when he learned that Phyllis was supposedly dead. But Phyllis’ choice to tell Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) she was alive first hurt Daniel.

However, Summer’s life was damaged far more than Daniel’s because Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) decided his wife’s deception meant the end of their marriage.

The divorce arguably happened because of Phyllis’ actions.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Visiting Heather Stevens And Lucy Romalotti In Portugal

Before Phyllis went off the soapy rails and threw in with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), she took a trip to Portugal. She intended to meet with Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant).

Phyllis’ intentions were fully warm-hearted and resulted in Heather bringing Lucy to Genoa City, Wisconsin, so she and Daniel could reconcile.

Daniel admitted he went to a dark place and that his daughter and Heather were alienated.

Heather and Daniel never gave Phyllis the credit she deserved. But Stafford’s character was responsible for that alienated trio patching up their differences.

Summer came to see that, while Kyle’s attitude was understandable, Phyllis was not responsible for what he chose to do with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).

Kyle’s behavior was selfish and impulsive. His immaturity caused him to believe separation, cheating, and divorce were all justified.

Summer needs her mother’s advice to keep her life on track. Hopefully, time is allowing Lanier’s character to realize that Phyllis was totally out of sorts and deserves forgiveness.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Is The Phoenix

Phyllis is many things to many people. One of her favorites, Danny Romalotti (Micheal Damian), is set to return to GC in September.

So, it will be interesting to see what role Danny plays in helping Daniel to give his mother a break. Phyllis’ maternal instinct has never been in true dispute.

Like Summer, Daniel owes his mother respect and should resume that stance as soon as possible.

Stafford’s character is known for her comebacks. So, like the aptly named Grand Phoenix Hotel, she is ready to rise from the ashes once more.

This time will be one of the more challenging attempts because Phyllis broke her children’s hearts and caused them to be understandably uncertain of her motives on Y&R.
