Days of Our Lives fans know that the Kiriakis family have always been known as one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in all of Salem. Led by Victor Kiriakis, who was also the founder of Titan Industries, the family may never be the same again now that he’s gone. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Salem says good-bye to the one and only Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) this week. When asked about filming Victor’s funeral scenes, actor Kyle Lowder, who plays Rex on the show, says, “It was awful. I can’t say it any other way. That man had such a presence, both physically and energetically, in that studio that you could almost literally feel the vacuum, he was no longer there. I didn’t like it.”
Actor Wally Kurth, who plays Justin Kiriakis on the show, agrees. He told the publication that the Kiriakis family will never be the same again now that Victor is gone. Plus, not having John Aniston around anymore just isn’t the same, either. He put it this way, “What John meant to the show is what Victor meant to the Kiriakis family. The view of everyone’s lives and their world has just been changed forever. They are all having to regain perspective and a footing as to how to put the next foot forward and move on with their lives without this dominant presence that influenced all of them in almost every waking moment. They were always aware of Victor, what he was doing, where he was. They all loved Victor and were dedicated to him. For him to not be there anymore, they all lost their footing. It will take a while to get back on track.”
