Queen Camilla Gets A New Name After King Charles’ Death

Everyone knows that when King Charles dies, his son, Prince William, will be made the new King of England. In addition, Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton will be made the new Queen of England. But what happens to Camilla Parker Bowles, should she survive her husband? Does she get another title? Or does she step down from the royal family altogether? Here’s what you need to know.

Queen Camilla Gets A New Name After King Charles’ Death

According to People magazine, Camilla Parker Bowles will still be queen after King Charles dies, but she’s just going to be a different kind of queen. While Kate Middleton will be the new Queen of England or Queen Consort – depending on what she and Prince William choose – then Camilla’s new technical title will be Queen Dowager. The last time that the title was used was back in 1837, when Queen Adelaide survived her husband, King William IV. 

If Camilla does become a widow, then she will be left to choose whatever way that she wants to live her life. There’s a good chance that she might retire to her home in the countryside or she could continue her charity work. Either way, there’s a very good chance that Camilla will live a life that is anywhere other than in the spotlight.

Royal Family News: Camilla Will Be A Different Kind Of Queen

Of course, many royal critics did have a lot to say about the matter. Some have left taken to social media to leave comments such as, “The monarchy’s future looks very bleak anyway. This stops with Charles I think. No matter the number of puff pieces out there, I agree that people have now become apathetic,” along with, “As a history buff it’s interesting to me that, after nearly 1000 years of royal history, that the first time Queen Dowager was used was in the 1830s. My brain can get stuck on this useless arcania that’s for sure.”

Another royal critic wrote, “She’s old, in poor health, never had a job or every charitable interests until she had to as his wife and is loathed by William. She of course will retire to her country house with every need met and will never be seen in a ceremonial capacity again.”

Of course, only time will tell what will happen and how Camilla will plan to spend her future. Watch this space.
