Days of Our Lives star Suzanne Rogers opens up about her 50th anniversary on the hit Peacock soap. What a milestone! And of course, as she celebrates this great moment in her career, many DOOL fans say they want to see more of her on the canvas. Here’s what you need to know.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the actress says that she’s honored to have been on the show for half a century now. She said, “I’m kind of shocked that I’ve been on the show for 50 years; I mean, how many people can say that? Not many. I’m touched that they wanted to do something.”

Suzanne also said that when she first joined Days of Our Lives, she was only supposed to stay for three years. She recalled, “I thought that was so long. Then, when that contract was coming to an end, about six months down the road, they wanted to sign me to seven years. I thought, ‘Oh, my goodness’. But by that point, I realized how much I loved what I was doing and how nice it would be to have a steady job.”

Of course, many DOOL fans have had a lot to say about Suzanne, her character Maggie and how she should be featured in more storylines. No one will certainly argue that! Some comments have included, “Suzanne Rogers has been around as Maggie as long as Hip Hop has been as a genre of music. She should be on the show more often. Can we give it up for Suzanne Rogers? The only soap actress to beat the Brooklyn Dodgers. From Elaine to Lydia and Molly to Maggie, Suzanne’s acting has never been saggy. She was the first woman to win the debut supporting actress Emmy,” along with, “Such a major milestone. She was robbed of the lifetime achievement Emmy this year. Susan Lucci was on All My Children for much less time and hasn’t appeared on daytime in 12 years. Honoring her now makes no sense when we have another daytime legend celebrating 50 years on her show. Give her some more storylines.”
