General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, August 11 tease the noose tightens, there’s a missing houseguest, and someone’s seriously caught off guard!
The noose tightens around the Gatlin cousins, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is missing a houseguest, and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is caught off guard and targeted.
Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) seems taken aback at practically a Quartermaine family reunion at the PCPD!
He asks if anyone would like to make a call after the dive bar fight with Eddie Maine/Ned Quartermaine, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) all there.
Carly and Eddie were both defending Olivia against a predatory Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Gray) who was making the moves on her.
Eddie got into a fight but Mason was winning, and Carly broke a whiskey bottle over Mason’s head. Now they’re all there to explain it to the police!
Meanwhile, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) calls Ava Jerome (Maura West) with an issue, and Ava wants to know what did she expect?
They could be talking about Olivia’s offer to plan Nina’s wedding, or they could be talking about something else.
A frequent topic of discussion is Avery Corinthos-Jerome (Ava and Grace Scarola) since Nina is getting ready to be her stepmother when she marries Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
However, Nina is becoming more aware that Sonny is no longer “Mike from Nixon Falls”. He tries to keep the danger hidden from her but she’s not someone who grew up in the mob like Ava.
Back at the PCPD, Olivia defends herself, and says she’s not admitting she did anything wrong. A dive bar is probably not the best place for a girls’ night out with Carly, but that’s where they went.
Finding Eddie/Ned after he ran off from her in the kitchen of the Quartermaine mansion was a bonus.
He’d just overheard Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) trying to convince Olivia to have him committed. Who can blame him for wanting to get out of there?
Elsewhere, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) is shocked when Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) suddenly suggests there’s someone better to raise his daughter Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). Elizabeth is her aunt through her half sister Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) who disappeared after leaving Violet with Anna on an overnight stay.
Finn and Anna had been involved at the time and came close to marrying. Violet is getting older and perhaps Finn feels ill-equipped to raise a little girl on his own.
But Elizabeth raised three boys mostly on her own successfully, so she might differ with Finn’s opinion-although ready to be there when she needs her.
At GH in Austin Gatlin-Holt’s (Roger Howarth) office, the noose tightens around the Gatlin cousins as Mason tells Austin he’s got as much riding on “this” as he does.
Exactly what the “this” is, isn’t specified although he could be talking about Sonny’s trying to get to their boss and also find the missing Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss).
Austin is aware that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has been following him around and found Mason’s victim Gordon Stevens’ (Maurice Hall) body.
It seems more and more apparent that Austin isn’t as squeaky clean as he appears to be. Did he and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) look at each other oddly because they know each other from a prison?
At home, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) updates Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) after offering his and Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) house to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms).
Sam may realize that she overstepped a bit and should have discussed her offer with Dante first. He seems a tad annoyed as he asks Sam whose idea that was?
It sounds like Sam has some explaining to do and they need to talk this over.
Nina is freaking out over her missing houseguest as she realizes Eddie’s missing from the guestroom at Sonny’s penthouse.
She calls Sonny on the phone and cries out “he’s gone”! But Sonny already knows that-he’s at the PCPD where Eddie, Carly and Olivia were brought after the bar fight where Carly and Eddie gave Mason a headache!
Sonny will try to handle things on that end, although he’ll be met with a little resistance at least from one individual! Things will work out, he’ll assure her.
Back at the PCPD, Sonny and Carly get in a bit of an argument as she refuses to let him help. Sonny is frustrated as he wants to know why she has a problem with him doing that?
For one thing she’ll be violating her SEC agreement if she lets him help her in any way-in this case, perhaps paying her bail.
She and Eddie probably both face charges for assault in regards to Mason, even if they were defending Olivia’s honor.
Anna is in danger and caught off guard, after coming back home in the dark. An attacker is lurking and watching her through the bushes, and ready to strike after she enters.
She’s looking at her watch, perhaps waiting for someone-Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) perhaps? Oddly, he was there when she left to talk to Dante about Pikeman.
The attacker will target Anna in a dramatic way-will she be able to escape? Or will her world burn up and her in it?
