According to new reports, television personality Wayne Brady, who was best known for his role as Dr. Reese Buckingham on The Bold and the Beautiful, has come out as pansexual. The 51-year-old recently released a statement saying that he is “bisexual but with an open mind.” This is the first time that he’s revealed his sexual orientation.
Wayne said that coming out pansexual was important to him and that he also wanted to be honest with his fans. He put it this way, “I came to pansexual because—and I know that I’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning—but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary.”
Wayne continued, “Being able to be attracted across the board. And, I think, at least for me for right now, that is the proper place. The world can absolutely go without knowing that Wayne identifies as pan. But that gave me license to still live in the shadows and to be secretive… I had to break that behavior.”
Now, as far as whether or not Wayne will ever return to The Bold and the Beautiful to reprise his role as Dr. Buckingham remains to be seen, but for now the actor has not made any comments about the matter. With that said, there’s no doubt that many B&B fans would love to see what’s in store for the Buckingham family, right? After all, they always know how to deliver the drama!
