The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) did something he never thought would happen. Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) unexpected embrace caused Finn to feel her maternal instinct.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) will be devastated to learn that the boy she raised as her own told Sheila that hugging her felt like something he has been missing his whole life. Sheila believed that revelation could be had if she never relented, and she was right.
Sheila made a special request. She asked for her doctor to check her out before the upcoming murder trial.
The doctor is, of course, Finn. He was upset at receiving the request and asked that someone else make the call before relenting.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was talking with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) while Finn and Sheila were reconnecting. The Il Giardino chat was mostly about Liam’s divorce from Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and his promise not to cross any moral boundary lines with Steffy again.
But Wood offered a line of dialogue that contrasted what was happening in the jail. Steffy asserted that Finn never wanted to see Sheila again.
Soapy trials are not always based on evidence, logic, and a judge’s honest assessment. No, sometimes corruption enters the fray, or a bizarre outcome happens for reasons that have no true explanation.
Finn told his birth mother that he and Steffy would be at her trial. That leaves open the possibility that Finn’s presence will influence the outcome to a certain degree.
It could be that Brown’s character remains in the show. She could receive a deserved long sentence but still appear sporadically if Finn decides he needs to maintain contact with her.
The above outcome would avoid a cliched escape or having Judge Evan Scott (Michael Corbett, who portrayed David Kimble on The Young and the Restless, Warren Carter on Search for Tomorrow, Michael Pavel, Junior on Ryan’s Hope, and Brent Cameron on One Life to Live) make a decision based on unusual influence.
Finn made a connection like no other when Sheila stepped out of the shadows in the Forrester guest house and into his life the day married Steffy. Novlan’s character learned Sheila’s horrible history minutes later when he joyously and naively introduced her to everyone at the wedding party.
The initial feelings Sheila stirred in Finn’s heart and mind, when choosing to introduce herself on that particularly purposeful day, were not matched until he dropped his medicine bag in the prison visitor’s room. Finn returning Sheila’s hug and offering her heartfelt comments were watershed events.
Devoted viewers can assume that the importance of the scenes between Sheila and Finn will prove meaningful beyond the checkup she requested from her beloved son on B&B.
