You can’t preach about wanting to keep the homeless off the streets while moving into a mega-mansion yourself. There’s a new report that suggests Prince William and Kate Middleton would be making a huge mistake if they moved into the Royal Lodge. That’s because it would become ‘disastrous PR’ for the future king of England, who is currently campaigning to bring homelessness to an end in the UK. Here’s what you need to know.

It has been reported that one of the reasons why King Charles had given his brother Prince Andrew his eviction papers from The Royal Lodge is because the Prince and Princess of Wales wanted to move into the home instead. They believe that they’ve outgrown their current accommodations in Norfolk and need something a little bigger for their three growing children. 

Well now sources say that it would certainly be a bad look for William and Kate to move into The Royal Lodge because it would make them look like major hypocrites. One source close to the situation even told The Daily Mail, “Upgrading from four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage in less than a year to Andrew’s 30-room mansion would be disastrous PR for the campaigning prince. Though should Charles succeed in evicting Andrew, might the disgraced duke be rendered homeless and qualify for help from his nephew’s crusade?”

With that said, it has also been reported that Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will continue to live at The Royal Lodge as she recovers from her breast cancer surgery. As much as William and Kate want the property, they are simply going to have to wait until a better time comes for them to move. Not only that, but it would also be terrible PR for them to kick out Andrew and his ex-wife, seeing how she’s recovering from her cancer treatment. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said.
