The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Doug Davidson just made a shocking claim about his post-soap life. The actor, who was best known for his role as Paul Williams on the hit CBS soap, has not been back on the canvas for years after producers refused to extend his contract. But because Doug has such a large fanbase on social media, many of them have been campaigning to bring his character back on the show. Sadly, that hasn’t happened yet. But Doug’s most recent revelation must be the most shocking one yet. Here’s what you need to know.
When one Twitter user said, “@DougDavidsonYR Hopefully you get a residual when they mention your name on #YR #YR50 Cricket asked about you on today’s show,” Doug swiftly replied with, “No, I don’t.”
So, does this mean that Doug isn’t getting paid or receiving the credit that he is due? That’s what it looks like. Of course, it didn’t take long at all for his social media fans and followers to weigh in on the matter. Many of them commented with, “My 89 year old mom and I were just talking about you yesterday and how the script writers talk about you but no one has the decency to bring you back. We all miss you,” along with, “That’s not fair Doug you should get money you’ve been on that show for a long time. You are missing, believe me!!!! Been watching since day 1, it’s just not the same.”
Another fan wrote, “So let me get this straight, a former actors whose name is mentioned on YR or a photo is shown of them, you all don’t get paid for it? That is not right. I can barely bring myself to watch without you on there. How they treated you is unconscionable.”
