It’s not easy being the King of England and it’s certainly not easy being a father to two princes, too. And when you have a son who is willing to discuss some of the family’s biggest secrets with the world, you know you have a big problem on your hands. With that said, here’s a little run down of King Charles’s relationship with his rebel son, Prince Harry and where things stand today. Here’s what you need to know.
It’s been reported that Charles is feeling frustrated with the Duke of Sussex’s behavior lately. That’s because Harry has made things “extremely difficult and uncomfortable,” for the monarchy. There’s even been talks that King Charles has completely shut the door on Harry for good. One source close to the situation put it this way, “The opportunity that was there for Harry to sort this out with the king is gone for now. Of course, Charles would always welcome a reconciliation with Harry and Meghan, he has made that very clear, and his door is always open in that regard. But now the coronation is done, I think Charles will want to focus on the job of being king, rather than to continue being distracted by Harry and Meghan drama.”
Yet, there were also previous reports suggesting Harry was begging King Charles for money with some very desperate phone calls. Royal author Robert Jobson wrote in his book, “Charles stopped taking the calls, however, after his son had sworn at him and repeatedly asked for funds in their tense calls.”
To make matters worse, there was a report that said King Charles even ghosted his son during his last trip to London. One insider said, “Apparently, [Harry] tried to see King Charles, but King Charles said he was too busy.”
Yikes. It sounds like things can only go up from here, right? At least that’s what many royal fans and critics alike are hoping for. Watch this space.
