It looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are blaming the circumstances around their failures, and not the reasons behind their failures, including themselves. There’s a new report that says the Duke and Duchess of Sussex blame COVID-19 and Queen Elizabeth’s death for their recent string of flops lately. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Page Six, they think that the pandemic and the queen’s death both had something to do with their career failures. One source close to the situation even said, “The word is that they think they’ve been really unlucky.”
As many fans know already, Spotify pulled the plug on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $20 million dollar contract with them. What’s more, Christian Dior decided that they didn’t want to work with the Sussexes anymore while others reports have suggested that they are having a hard time making ends meet. If that weren’t enough, one CEO called the Sussexes “lazy grifters” while another Hollywood PR guru said that Meghan lacked talent. Some people think that she shouldn’t have even stepped into the audio and podcast world to begin with.
That still hasn’t stopped Harry and Meghan from trying to move forward in their careers. The Duke of Sussex is filming a new documentary about his love for Arica. One source said, “Obviously, Harry has a lot of roots in Africa and he feels at home there.’ He has previously called Africa his ‘second home.’”
So far Harry and Meghan themselves haven’t made any comments about their recent troubles but if there’s anything that we’ve learned about them this past year, it’s that they will save it all for another Netflix documentary. That, or a book. The Sussexes can’t say that 2023 has been a complete waste because Harry’s book Spare was a bestseller, even if it did completely destroy his relationship with the royal family back at home. You win some, you lose some. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more royal drama to come.
