Royal Family News says a lot of people can’t help but wonder if Prince Harry might have just lost his royal rights. Because he is officially no longer living in Frogmore Cottage on the outskirts of Windsor Estates, there’s speculation that the Duke of Sussex cannot act as counselor of state. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal commentator Angela Levin, who always has something scathing to say about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on almost a daily basis, took to her Twitter account to write, “As it is essential to have a permanent residence in the UK, now that Harry has vacated Frogmore Cottage, he can no longer act as counselor of state – someone who stands in for the Monarch if they are abroad or unwell.”
But it doesn’t seem as though she is entirely correct. Some people pointed out that, “Prince Harry doesn’t need to act as a Counselors state. That was the whole point of adding Anne and Edward. Between them, Camilla and William, you’ll always have at least two in the UK even with overseas trips.”
It’s also been noted that Prince Andrew and his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are also counselors of estate. Yet, royal experts say that with so many Counselors of State and only two required to perform any duties, Beatrice, Andrew & Harry will likely never be called upon to perform any duties. Apparently, there are always four Counselors of State who are working royals and even with their duties taking them overseas it is very easy to arrange schedules so 2 of the 4 are in the UK at any time.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter. Now, whether or not Prince Harry does return to the UK remains to be seen. For now, his home and his heart is definitely set on California. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
