Oh boy. This is certainly not a good look for the future King of England. There’s a new report that says Prince William was greeted by absolutely zero crowds when he arrived in Aberdeen Scotland this week. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, unfortunately, no one showed up for Prince William’s royal engagement. There were crowd barriers for just three people. He was in town as part of his tour of the UK to discuss his Homewards campaign. The Scotland stop was just one of six locations chosen for the project in hopes that his program could “demonstrate its possibility to end homelessness.” Yet no one was there to hear what William had to say about it. It was actually a very embarassing image to see as William probably didn’t expect this at all.

Of course, many royal fans and critics alike have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have even commented with, “Not surprising. This is so frustrating. I know we’ve all said this, but it bears repeating. This whole ego push is such a waste of time and money. He could have easily found the charities in UK making real headway with providing housing, education, jobs and health resources for the unhoused and then given those groups money and PR,” along with, “Did people even know that he was going to be in Aberdeen? From what I saw they announced where he would be when he arrived in a specific city. I just didn’t like the tone of this campaign it was too much about William and him interacting with royalists and not enough about the issue of homelessness.”

Another critic wrote, “He’s way out of his depth with this issue. It’s so obvious he’s only doing this to align himself with his mother’s name without committing to the work. His mother’s empathy was her currency and connected her with people because she was genuine about the causes she pursued.”
