That’s what a lot of The Young and the Restless fans can’t help but wonder as it seems like Kyle Abbott is doing just that for a mother that had abandoned him for more than half of his life. At this point, many The Young and the Restless fans know that Kyle Abbott has made it pretty clear that he will never forgive his wife Summer Newman for lying to him about her mother, Phyllis Summers, still being alive. Even though Phyllis had framed Kyle’s mother Diane Jenkins for murder, all Summer was trying to do was protect her own mom. Phyllis might not be the most innocent person in the world, but at the end of the day Summer truly loves her and wants to be there for her.

But for Kyle, that’s clearly not acceptable. He has been livid that Summer has been lying to him about Phyllis being alive this entire time. He won’t even hear any of her excuses, as he can’t believe that Phyllis has done Diane this dirty. But then again, we are talking about the same Diane Jenkins who had faked her own death and moved to Los Angeles to take on a whole new persona. She left everyone that she loved behind – including her own son – to start a new life for herself. 

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Is Kyle Being Unfair To Summer?

This begs a lot of people to ask: is Kyle really upset at Summer or is he just upset that the same thing is happening again twice in his life? There is certainly an underlying issue here, but Summer Newman is definitely not the person to blame. It seems like Kyle is just angry at her because he’s used to being angry over his mother’s disappearing act. Clearly, he needs to take this out with Phyllis and not Summer, right? Sometimes your mother and the issues you have with her just isn’t worth destroying your own marriage for.
