Vanna White Has Not Gotten A Pay Raise In 18 Years

Vanna White is tired of staying silent. There are new reports that say the Wheel of Fortune star is heavily negotiating with the producers of the show for a new pay raise now that Pat Sajak is leaving and Ryan Seacrest is taking his place. Here’s what you need to  know.

Vanna White Has Not Gotten A Pay Raise In 18 Years

According to TMZ, Vanna is making it pretty clear that she wants her pay disparity to be addressed, as she has been making half of what Pat has made for the last two decades. In fact, reports say that Vannas has made the same salary – $3 million – for the last 18 years with no pay raise. Her lawyer, Bryan Freedman, even said, “After 41 years as a model employee and more the face of that show than him [Pat], asking for 50% of what he makes seems like a no-brainer.”

It goes without saying that the internet sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Many Wheel of Fortune fans and critics alike have commented on the matter with, “She SHOULD get paid less because she is the sidekick but NOT that much less. That is straight up sexism. Go Vanna!” along with, “She should walk away. That new, media hog, host will never let her share the spotlight with him. Her life will be hell if she stays. Yes the 18 years without a raise and allowing that to continue doesn’t speak well of her now (or her agents).”

And then there was this comment: “I find it odd that she and her team allowed this for 18 years. Makes no sense. I understand Vanna’s value, but if you didn’t speak up over the course of the past 2 decades it feels now as if it just a desperate money grab at this point. It would be an easier, cleaner, cheaper break for WOF to simply pay Vanna out for the remaining year on her contract and either get rid of the letter turner role seeing that it isn’t needed. The letters can light up by themself. Ryan will not need to play off anyone other than the contestants.
