Soon after Sally lost her baby, Elena goes to her room and tells her that it was Adam Newman who was given the ultimate choice in either saving her or saving their baby. When Elena said, “If we were only able to save one of you, Adam had to decide, you or the baby!” Sally responded with, “Adam had a choice.”

But did Adam really have that choice or was it up to the doctors to do what was best for Sally? We have a strong feeling that no father would be given such a difficult choice to make and especially under Sally’s circumstances. Of course, many The Young and the Restless fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have commented with, “Oh Elena.  That was the last thing Sally needed to hear.   She will blame Adam for the death of their daughter.  Anyone in his position would of made that same decision.  He also lost a child.  He has feelings as well.  It was a tough decision,” along with, “I think Elena could have worded things better, so dare I say Adam wouldn’t be blamed for this mess. I wished Elena would have told her the doctors were going make the choice of Adam didn’t. That’s what Elena told Adam. Now, Sally really blames him.”

Another critic wrote, “Come on now, the doctor actually has the final choice of who to save. I would think that they would usually save the mother because she may have another chance to have a baby in the future. This is unfair to blame Adam when he did nothing wrong.”
