Let’s just say that this is going to be the longest and most painful royal eviction ever. There’s a new report that suggests Prince Andrew will only leave The Royal Lodge kicking and screaming because there is no way that he is going to leave the one place that he’s called home for the last several decades now without a fight. According to a new report, Prince Andrew is refusing to leave The Royal Lodge even though renovations are expected to take place this summer. There’s even a good chance that after the renovations are complete, the Duke of York still won’t want to leave.
One source close to the situation recently told The Daily Mail, “They originally wanted Andrew out of Royal Lodge so that the property could be renovated and prepared for new lodgers. But he is adamant that, as he has so many years left to run on his lease and he spent millions from his own fortune doing up the place that he is not going to leave his home. He feels very strongly, perhaps with some justification, that they are moving the goalposts suddenly and it is hugely unfair.”
The tipster added, “No one knows how it will be resolved but Andrew is insistent. It was clearly convenient for Harry and Meghan to leave Frogmore as they were paying for a property they don’t really use. But Royal Lodge is the Andrew’s home.”
As many royal fans know by now, the King of England evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage and has decided to give it to his little brother Prince Andrew instead. However, it looks like the Duke of York is hesitant to accept the offer as he himself doesn’t want to move from The Royal Lodge. Clearly, Frogmore Cottage would be more than just a little downgrade for him.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
