A lot of people seem to think that’s the case as the King of England made no effort to acknowledge his grandchildren on their birthdays this year. That might all be because he’s still feuding with their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Here’s what you need to know.

One source close to the situation put it this way, “Last year’s birthday acknowledgement was at the late Queen’s behest and an indication of the cordial relationship she had with Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children.”

The tipster added, “King Charles’s decision not to publicly acknowledge his granddaughter’s birthday, nor Prince Archie’s last month, is a reflection of their strained relationship and likely an indication of the social media practices going forward.”

But then again, there was a separate report suggesting that it was Meghan Markle who was keeping her two children away from members of the British family, including their grandfather, King Charles. Back when it was announced that only Prince Harry would be attending the coronation while Meghan would be sitting it out by staying at home, the Daily Mail columnist Dan Wootton wrote, “So Meghan bottles it, leaving Prince Harry to attend the Coronation alone in order to avoid boos from angry Brits in the crowd. But how sad to deny the king the chance to see his two grandchildren who will remain in California.”

But then again, other critics believe that the Sussexes might be doing King Charles and the rest of the royal family a disservice by keeping their children behind and not giving anyone an opportunity to see them. In fact, some are even accusing Meghan of playing a cat and mouse game with the royals and her kids.

So far Buckingham palace has not made any comments about the matter. Now, whether or not King Charles will ever see Archie and Lilibet in person, remains to be seen.
