There’s a new report that says King Charles is refusing to invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his birthday bash. And by birthday bash, we mean the annual Trooping the Colour parade that will take place in London this weekend. Here’s what you need to know.
According to new reports, King Charles has not invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to his first Trooping the Colour. But it’s not like they would have a place on the balcony anyway, right? This is definitely unsurprising for all of the royal fans and critics alike who have been paying attention to the royal drama from this past year.
One source close to the situation even told the Daily Mail, “I hear that Prince Harry and Meghan have not, however, been invited to the King’s Birthday Parade next weekend. It will be the first time in Harry’s life that he has not been welcome at the monarch’s official birthday celebrations. This year’s event is particularly significant because it is the first since his father succeeded to the throne last September.”
But then again, when Queen Elizabeth was still alive, she stressed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would still be invited to royal family events, and even after they stepped down from their positions as full-time working royals. Clearly, that has changed.
Of course, many royal fans have commented on the matter with, “It’s not even Charles actual birthday and seriously doubt the Sussexes ever expected to participate in this farce. Why would the press expect a response to this event,” along with, “So there will be years of Harry and his family not being invited to events? And King William will not invite Harry to the funeral of King Charles the III because it is a state funeral and you need an invitation?”
And then this critic said, “In this episode of all in the royal cult family Harry has not been invited. Here is a sneak peak of the next few episodes. Harry has been invited. Next Harry won’t answer. Next Chuckles is sad his son won’t come. Stay tuned.”
