In fact, The Young and the Restless stars Joshua Morrow and Courtney Hope were recently asked about the age difference between their on-screen characters, Nick Newman and Sally Spectra. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the handsome actor says that for him personally, the age difference isn’t an issue. He put it this way, “Our age difference did concern me. I mean, I’m freaking up there, man. But two weeks into it, I was like, ‘This is not a thing.’ When I look at us on screen, it doesn’t seem jarring to me. There’s obviously some chemistry there, so that sort of quelled any concerns I initially had.”

Courtney also added that Sally’s age difference with Nick didn’t bother her on her end, either. She said, “The age difference didn’t worry me because Sally just came from [a relationship] with Jack, which was more of an age gap,” she reasoned. “I just don’t see Joshua as a lot older than me. I see him as a peer and someone I relate easily to.”

When asked if he was worried if the audience wouldn’t accept their characters as a couple, Joshua said, “Well, yeah, I was throwing the old man out there to gauge her knee-jerk reaction. I’d be like, ‘Yeah, I’m a lot older than you,’ and she’d cast a glance at me and say, ‘Yeah, you are.’ But she never makes me feel that I’m much older than her, which is good. I still act like I’m 23. That’s been something that my wife and mother have complained about me for years. I definitely don’t act my age.”
