She keeps on leaving just as much as she keeps on coming back. General Hospital star Emma Samms, who is best known for her role as Holly, has once again said good-bye to Port Charles. The British-born actress recently wrapped up her latest sting on the show during the May 18th episode. Here’s what she has to say!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the beautiful brunette said that she hoped that she could have stayed in Port Charles just a little bit longer, but it seems like the writers have different plans for her character. Emma says that she’s a bit surprised by how things have changed so much between her character and Holly’s love interest, Robert.
She put it this way, “Robert and Holly are such different people now. She knows that Robert loves her, but the question is, would it work? I suppose most relationships are very complicated. but theirs has complications that most relationships don’t have! It was very emotional; there’s a lot of bittersweet to Robert and Holly’s relationship, that’s for sure.”
Back in April, the actress opened up about her return to General Hospital although at the time, she didn’t know that it was going to be a brief one. She said that she and the producers of the show “had sort of touched on the subject of another return. Frank Valentini and I had spoken about the practicalities of it. I’m very lucky that my husband Simon is able to come back with me and do some work from here, that he has that flexible schedule.”
Here’s hoping that we will see Emma return to the show soon again! That’s because there’s no doubt that there’s more to tell when it comes to Holly’s story. Watch this space.
