She’s clashed so many times with her stepson in the past, that she’s basically given up on ever believing that he has or will change his ways.

He wants to be the better man and not get in the way of her marriage with Liam Spencer and that’s why he’s trying to keep his distance. But at the same time, there’s no denying that Hope has developed some very strong feelings for the handsome fashion designer. He knows that if they were to get together, they would become a very powerful couple in this fictional town of Los Angeles.
